Lecturer in Nursing at The 工口影院
Joanne McNaughton is a lecturer in Nursing at the 工口影院. She brings clinical experience from oncology, haematology and urology settings across the UK to her current role in higher education. She teaches on undergraduate nursing modules and focuses on cancer nursing education that connects theory with contemporary clinical practice.

Joanne's research and teaching interests include cancer education, equality and diversity in nursing, and innovative pedagogical approaches.

Since joining the faculty in 2022, Joanne has been involved in several research projects exploring student support, cancer care pathways, and academic development skills. Her particular interests focus on cancer education and equality and diversity issues within nursing practice.

Teacher of the Year (Health Sciences & Sport)
Recipient of the 2025 Stirling Students' Union Teacher of the Year Award (Health Sciences & Sport), a student-nominated teaching excellence award.

BSc Nursing Cohort Lead
Joanne serves as cohort lead for the BSc Nursing programme, providing academic and pastoral support to students throughout their undergraduate journey. In this role, she coordinates student progression, facilitates communication between students and faculty, and ensures cohort cohesion and academic success.


Other Project

UK Oncology Nursing Society Regional Champion
Joanne currently serves as a UK Oncology Nursing Society (UKONS) regional champion for Scotland. UKONS is a UK-based charity that supports cancer nurses and works to advance excellence in cancer nursing at regional and national levels.
